eu-dai-mo-nia
is a Greek word literally translating to the state or condition of 'good spirit', and which is commonly translated as 'happiness' or 'welfare'. In the works of Aristotle, eudaimonia was the term for the highest human good in older Greek tradition
ero-tas
The Modern Greek word "erotas" means "Romantic Love". Plato refined his own definition: Although eros is initially felt for a person, with contemplation it becomes an appreciation of the beauty within that person, or even becomes appreciation of beauty itself.
Eros and PsycheThe myth of Eros and Psyche is one of the best love stories in classical mythology. Eros was the god of intense love and desire. Psyche, a human maiden, was so beautiful that she rivaled the divine beauty of Aphrodite. Overcome with jealousy, Aphrodite told Eros to make Psyche fall in love with someone grotesque. The two fell in love the moment they laid eyes on each other. Their love was so powerful that Psyche was made into a goddess so she and Eros could be married as equals on Mt. Olympus. Their child, Hedone, is the goddess of pure joy and pleasure.
HellasThe name of Greece differs in Greek compared with the names used for the country in other languages and cultures. The ancient and modern name of the country is Hellas or Hellada (Greek: Ελλάς, Ελλάδα: Ἑλλάς, Ἑλλάδα), and its official name is the Hellenic Republic, Helliniki Dimokratia (Ελληνική Δημοκρατία. In English, however, the country is usually called Greece, which comes from the Latin Graecia (as used by the Romans).
